Summer may be a time to relax, but tell that to kids who are bouncing off the walls or saying “I’m bored.”  We want to make summer fun and memorable, but may be looking for some new ideas.  

Here are a few ideas to get you started this summer with some kid-friendly activities.

  • Bake cookies for ice cream sandwiches
  • Visit a farmer’s market
  • Have a picnic at a park or in your own backyard
  • Write and illustrate your own book and have it published into an actual hardcover book using IlluStory
  • Make homemade pizza
  • Have a water balloon fight
  • Go biking on a trail
  • Plant a garden
  • Have an outdoor painting party using huge canvases or cardboard
  • Make a giant hopscotch or Twister game on the lawn (with mist paint) or driveway (with chalk)

  • Feed ducks at park
  • Go for a walk and then make a collage from nature objects you find along the way
  • Decorate your walkways with chalk
  • Plant a butterfly garden

  • Press summer flowers
  • Build a fort- inside if its raining with sheets and chairs, or outside using boxes(can decorate)
  • Fly a kite
