West Nile Virus Season is Time for Mosquito Protection

Shortly after the 4^th of July holiday, a mosquito in Massachusetts tested positive for West Nile virus for the first time this year. The positive sample was collected in Boston. Once the mosquitoes come back positive for WNV, human risk increases and will continue to increase through the month of August.

West Nile virus (WNV) is harmless for most, but for a small portion of those who get WNV, there is a risk for encephalitis or meningitis. Read all the symptoms of West Nile virus so you can be aware and see a doctor at the first signs of infection.

When you call for mosquito control services, we’ll update you as to how many treatments are currently available in a regular three-week cycle, for the season. You will only pay for the treatments you need, allowing you to enjoy your yard for as much time as you’d like.

If your summer doesn’t come to a close until after Labor Day, we can sign you up for treatments all the way to the end of the mosquito season. But if your kids are home for the summer from college, and once they leave, you tend to stay indoors more again, we can sign you up for only the number of treatments your lifestyle requires.
