When cooler weather rolls in, we tend to think less of the insects that normally terrorize during the summer months, and for good reason! Ticks are incredibly hardy creatures, especially considering their size, and they can survive in the wild for around three years. With such hardiness comes the ability to resist the effects of cold weather, so ticks will remain active during the fall!

Tick control is an important fall consideration

For anyone who likes to spend time outdoors, this fact is distressing for a few reasons. Firstly, ticks are parasites, meaning they feed on the blood of other animals to sustain them. Unfortunately for us, humans are just as much a target for these creatures as any other animal, so it is important to stay aware of the risks associated with a tick encounter. These tiny ticks can be as small as a poppy seed and are notoriously difficult to spot on the body.
