Ready or not, July really is here, and that means the Fourth is right around the corner. Many of you lucky ducks have a three-day weekend coming, and we’re pretty sure there are more than a few BBQ’s and outdoor parties on tap. Always one to make sure your outdoor fun is done right, we at Mosquito Squad of Greater Saint Louis have 4 outdoor party tips to make your Fourth a star spangled success.

1. Let Guests Have a Seat – Make sure there is plenty of seating for everyone invited, and try to group them close together. If you don’t have enough tables and chairs why not spread picnic blankets on the ground?
2. Create a Little Mood Lighting – Before the party place candles, lanterns, and string up holiday or outdoor lights to provide plenty of lighting without attracting moths and other light-loving bugs.
3. Break Out the Games – From yard games like bocci ball, croquet, a giant checkers set, washers, and corn hole to board games, keep the party lively by setting up activities outside.
4. Prep the Yard – Take a quick walk through the day before the party to make sure you’ve removed all debris, cut your grass, and plan to have your yard treated for mosquitoes before guests have arrived.
