The Florida Keys Mosquito Control District is fighting the Zika Virus with a tiny fish called gambusia or mosquito fish. The gambusia eat the larvae of the Aedes aegypti mosquito which is the one most responsible for the spread of the Zika Virus.

There are over 40 species of Gambusia Fish which are also known as Mosquito fish.

It is a freshwater fish native to the eastern and southern USA.

One Gambusia fish can consume more than 10 square feet of mosquito larvae.
