Brushy Creek Lake Park is in Cedar Park and is located near the intersection of Parmer Lane and Brushy Creek Road. This 90 acre park offers a variety of outdoor activities for the active family, including three picnic pavilions, barbeque pits, a playscape, a splash pad, a sand volleyball court, an exercise station, outdoor showers, bocce ball courts, a hike and bike trail, a labyrinth and wildlife observation points. The picnic pavilions can be reserved for birthday parties and other events. Brushy Creek Lake forms the southern boundary of the park, with golf course views across the lake. The lake has a fishing pier and a boat ramp and although only unpowered boats are allowed, there are almost always people canoeing and kayaking on the lake. The splash pad is very popular during the summer months, and is a great place to cool off. Brushy Creek Trail, a nine mile hike and bike trail, runs through the park and a short hike in either direction will take you to either Champion Park or Brushy Creek Sports Park. This park's open area near the lake and wooded areas near the road make it interesting for a quiet walk and provide nice bird watching. There are frequently ospreys hunting in the lake, and there is an egret rookery on one of the islands near the Parmer Lane bridge. Park hours are half an hour before sunrise to 10 p.m. and the splash pad is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from May to September.
